Deacon Barry Ryan
Compassionate, Beautiful & Focused on
Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery serves Catholics from around our
Diocese. Read what Deacon Barry Ryan from St. Elizabeth Parish in
Pflugerville had to say about his experience.
"Displaced from her lifelong home in New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina six years ago, my mother proclaimed that Austin would be where she lived for the rest of her life and beyond. Being healthy in her late 60’s we thought she’d have plenty of life left; unfortunately, that quickly changed on October 26, 2009 when she unexpectedly passed away. As a devout Catholic, she wanted a Catholic burial in a Catholic cemetery. Contacting Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, the staff compassionately walked with us in grief and in faith. Over a year later, I tremendously miss her’ however, knowing she is in the arms of a loving God and resting so close to us is most comforting. Since then, I continue to pray with the cemetery staff for the monthly rosary and serve at the annual All Soul’s Mass. OLOTR remains a special blessing in my life."
